Hi everyone
I have Explorer 2006XLT, it was in a crash and now have two codes B1231 and B1915 Dealer say it was in crash so it is not covered. Is this true? Also if anyone know where RCM is located please advise. Thanks guys

Try disconnecting the Negative battery cable for a couple of minutes to clear the memory. If the codes don't come back don't worry about it. If they do come back get it inspected (you'll have to pay for that too). You can also try Autozone free code scans, just ask one of the sales associates. Then you can narrow it down from there.

The dealer did check it and gave me these codes. They mentioned to replace RCM and left pretensioner. I located the pretensioner but am not able to find RCM. So If you know where that is and also if that will fix the air bag sign that is lit? Thanks
 






1998 ford ranger 4wd

hi all, i have a 1998 ford ranger 4wd i can shift into 4h, but it will not shift back to 2wd, i have pulled the electronic shift motor, turned key to on switch to 4h. & the motor did nothing is there anything else i can try to help find the problem if it is really the motor or the switch. ant help would be great.

Welcome to this forum! Connect a test light to the wiring on the shift motor. Engage 4WD, and see if there is any voltage going to the motor. Check the sticky thread in the transmission section on repairing the shift motor.

Who fixed your vehicle? Thye should ahve fixed this. take it back and have the insurance co cover the tensioner and labor pls give the repair shop an earful for letting it go out with these issues.
