Hello all. I have a 2004 explorer and ran into a problem yesterday. The car would not come out of park without me really jamming the shifter. I know I prob should not have done this but i needed to move the car and that was the only thing that worked.
Now the shifter gear indicator (not sure if that is the right terminology) is off. For instance instead of the indicator being on the R for reverse it is between N and D. I read some other posts and did what they said, take off the paneling and look for the thumb wheel on the gear cable to adjust but I can't seem to find it in my explorer. The other post was for a 99 so maybe things are different.
If anyone can help me by letting me know how to adjust the indicator I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
GR
