HELP! radio lights up, but on sound...won't take cd in..

heres a good one for ya we need some help..

my friend tried to put in a radio in his car....he got it in alright and goes to turn it on...and no sound...it lights up...but won't take a cd in...the radio won't play...just over all no sound what so ever..

i'm stumped what could the problem be?

please help quick!!!

i will tell you exactly what it is it is the hu. exact same thing happen to mine when i tried installing it at first i screwed it up and shorted something than took to professional to install and everything came on and worked fine but no sound. take it back to either get fix or get a new one.
