I have a 1992 ford ranger xlt 4.0 v-6 2wd automatic trans problem I need help with I've been told its torque converter its a weird noise I does get louder when rpms r reved up anyone help please get back to me asap

Sounds like a flex plate spacer. I had the same noise from my explorer. They are made of plastic. The PATC transmission center sells a metal one it's probably the 6 bolt one, cost is $15 and they are quick with delivery. It's also available on Ebay, PATC has a store through there. Just type in a4ld crankshaft spacer. It goes in between the flywheel and crank shaft. Stock ones are known to break. Could be the torque converter but that wouldn't be my first choice.
