When I step on the brakes, they feel fine, but when I let up, and re-apply, the pedal goes to the foor. It stops and holds the truck at the floor, but it shouldn't do that. Do I just need to flush/bleed my brake system, or is it something else? It just started yesterday, and before that it was great. I am not leaking any brake fluid either.

Any help appreceiated. Im gonna bleed 'em for now, but if it keeps acting up, well I just don't know.

sounds like it got air in the system..... have the pads/rotors etc checked out... if those are fine, then just bleed the system out.....

Thanks. Sounds simple enough. Glad it wasn't the booster.

Bump

Still the same as my original post. I bled the brakes. Same thing happening. Anyone know what it might be. Easier to ask here rather than taking my spare/roofrack off to get her in the garage. If I know now, it will be a quick fix once I do pull her in. I don't want my Tahoe to freeze by being outside too long. (Its my wife's)

Thank's

Andy

I have the same problem, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

maybe your fluid took on water... that can severly hinder its performance and screw things up.... have you done a complete flush of the brake fluid?

it's been a while, had my mechanic do it.
How hard is a bleed, what type of supplies will i need?

the whole system or just the air out?
it isnt hard, you just have to use a lot of new brake fluid, a turkey baster, and something to clean up all the old stuff, you keep purging the system through the wheel bleed valves until fresh fluid comes out

thanks for the info, it's much appreciated
