Help! Tranny wont shift automatically!

[94 Limited 4x4]

I ve had my 96 sport 4 a week now and what is happening is that when taking off from a stand still the tranny will start out in 1st like its supposed 2 but it will stay in 1st till u let off the gas pedal then it shifts and sometimes oyu have 2 do the same 2 get it 2 shift the rest of the gears. Ive replaced the filter and fluid and put a new speed sensor on it but it still hasnt changed Please could someone give me some advice as to whats going on with it.

Has your truck ever backfired through the intake before? If so I would check the Vacum line that runs from the intake to the modulator if equiped. Mine is located on the passenger side behind a heat shield. The backfire blew it off twice and same problem your having. Even if there was no backfire check to see if its there anyway. I just don't know if your tranny has it or not. Mine is a A4LD. Hope this helps

Then I would check all connections to the tranny and maybe disconnect the battery and reset the computer.
