help transmision issues

Im confused o clicked it slid in i didnt here any clicks it was hard to get in while on your back on ground without spilling all trans fluid so when it slid in we thought it was fine it was still able to spini had to spin it to get the bolts to line up

I never installed a TC with the trans in the air , I always seated the TC into the trans and used Styrofoam cut into wedge/Pie shapes to keep it seated while installing the trans , the Styrofoam just shreds up inside the bell housing and normally falls out the bottom holes , If the TC was not seated it could have damaged the pump bushing and pump when spinning , Hate to say it , But It Probably needs to get pulled back out and checked .

Tomoro or the next day we are going to use the lift to pull it back out am i going to be able to see if the pump seal is bad

You should feel the TC area that seats into the bushing , you can use a flashlight to look at the bushing itself , if it does not have a crosshatch look , like a cylinder of a motor , it could be wore out when you bought it , but I would search on here for trans removal and installation , I did my first trans swap myself and screwed up the TC and the bushing , I got lucky and swapped the TC and bell housing from the bad trans and made it work for almost a year , then I bought a pre 88 Bronco II trans and it was missing OD when I installed it ..

It should show signs inside the bell housing and or on the TC itself

Ouch , that looks to be a bad leak , I would guess its coming from the TC Bushing , It would take a really bad pan gasket or Servos to leak from there .
 






So far everyone i talked to about it beleive it is a pump seal i didnt get it down there today but tomoro thats my goal i. Got in it today and played with the shifter and it seemed to pop into gear but not move because no fluid. Also i think i may have ruined the tc on the way home because i had to really push it like 4000 rpm to get it to barely get in the driveway

No problem , I didn't know much when I did my first swap 2 + years ago , But Had a Mechanic Friend teach me a few things and learned more after downloading the ATSG PDF Manual .
 


















Got the pan off and first thing i heard was o did you just get done gold panning
 
























Trans problem

I have a 94 Explorer and as I was driving down the road the other day the truck just died on me I put it into neutral to start it back up and it started fine but the moment I put it into any gear the truck just dies out! Now I have been told by three different people that its the torque convertor but my uncle just said that it is the front pump has anyone had this happen to them if so was it the pump or the torque convertor?

No rough idle its runs perfectly fine its just when i put it into any other gear then park or neutral is when it dies
