Help! Washer Fluid not working....

No rear reservoir; it all feeds from the reservoir from under the hood. Should be able to see the hose running to the back window from that front reservoir. Mine had come apart at a junction under the hood, low on the passenger side and was pumping fluid on the driveway so it was easy to spot. I've read of others having to pull the headliner down a little back by the hatch to see if the hose is connected to the spray head. When you activate the back sprayer, are you seeing any puddles anywhere on the ground or inside the vehicle?

I wonder if there is a separate pump that feeds the rear washer? If there is, maybe you need to replace that. If the front and back work off the same pump.....you will have to trace your hose and see if it is kinked or broken somewhere. You can also unhook the hose from the spray nozzle and activate rear washer....that will tell you if your nozzle is plugged or not.:D

Here is some info I found that may help with your rear washer problem;)

First check to see if the washer pump operates when pressing the
rear wash switch. The washer pump is at the bottom of the washer fluid
reservoir. The same pump is used for the front windshield washers.
There is a relay system that allows the pump to operate in two
different directions by reversing the polarity of the power and ground
supplied to the pump.

If the pump operates fine for the front washers, the pump is good. If
it operates when the rear switch is used, but there is no fluid from
the nozzle, there is a problem somewhere in the hose restricting the
flow, or the nozzle is clogged. disconnect the hose from the wiper arm
and nozzle and check for flow from the hose.

Also make sure the hose is not kinked.

If the pump does not operate when rear washer switch is pressed, but it
does work on front washers, then the switch may not be sending a signal
to the GEM (Generic Electronic Module), which controls the relays. Or
the relay could be bad. Listen for the relay click when pressing the
button. Testing the switch can be done with an ohmmeter.

I will check that as son as it warms up here is snowing and were are expecting 6-12 inches in the next few days.

front washer not working

ok heres the deal, any help would be appreciated. 03 sport and my front washer fluid has suddenly stopped working. the rear works, the wipers work fine. checked the fuse panel on the driver side of dash and they were good. I thought maybe my fluid was frozen since its been really cold this winter but over the past week we have had some good weather and thats not the problem. thanks.

1998 Ford Explorer XLT - Front Washer Won't Spray

The front windshield washer on my 1998 Ford Explorer XLT will not spray. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. If I hold / press the washer button on the directional blinker lever just right it will spray washer fluid. I replaced the washer pump and the directional blinker lever. No difference.

I am now searching for the front wiper relay. Owners manual does not list it's whereabouts. Can anyone tell me where that relay might be on my 1998 XLT?

Thanks in advance for the help......
