Help; What is this connector for?

I have searched...and searched.....and searched.
This is from my 98 XLT 5.0, below the drivers headlight, behind the bumper and on the frame.
It is a 8 pin connector, with 7 wires going to it.

Getting ready to install a EATC and a message center. [Totally with great thanks to this community]
Was wondering where these wires go, and what they are for.

DRL module connector?

According to my 2000 wiring diagrams the connector to the daytime running lamps module (DRL) is located there but only has 6 pins. On earlier years it was an 8 pin connector. wire colors: 1-gry/wht, 2-ppl/org, 3-ppl/wht, 4-lt grn/yel, 6-lt blu/blk, 7-red/blk, 8-lt grn/blk.

Thanks, 2000. Maybe that's it. The #5 and 6 pins are a different color combo on my 98. I will try to figure out where the go from there.
