if anyone can help do a BL on my 96 explorer anytime between now and christmas in akron ohio, i would appreciate it immensely(as well as repay the favor in whatever way i can). we have a shop to work in, and tools, but after looking at the directions that came with my PA BL kit, it seems like more intense a job than me and my friend (not particularly mechanically inclined) can handle by ourselves. i know that if i pay a shop to do it, that they are gonna tax me on it, so if anyone can help me i would truly appreciate it. also, if anyone has any tips on doing the lift, i would appreciate those too. thanks, todd.

so is that basically the same instructions as for the 2nd gen? nobody ever did a write up on the 2nd gen's did they. i'm just really worried about things like the shifter extension, and brake lines and stuff like that. or that i'll get half way through, and not be able to finish, and then i'll be stuck. anyone else have any pics they took of doing this lift? or a hand to give?

Dude you'll be fine, the actual bl itself is a walk in the park its the bumper relocation that was a PITA, you shouldn't even have to mess with the brake lines, those should be fine. The shifter extension took like two seconds, if you got any questions when your doing it just get on the forum there are tons of us that can help you if any problems arise during install, you want to drive to stl I would love to help you :D

thanks for the encouragement, i'm just not really a mechanic, and the directions are vague compared to my knowledge of mechanics. if i don't get the bumper mounts done at the time of install, would i be able to fabricate and mount them later? thanks for the help, todd.

Yeah you'll be alright, you will be able to at least get the back bumper on with some possbile slight modifications, if you can't get the front bumper back on right away I wouldn't worry about it, I no longer have a front bumper just a brush gaurd and winch in the middle :D I can probably post some pics of everything you will need later next week sometime if you want of what is modified on mine with the bl.

yeah, i would really appreciate that. thanks for all your help, i'll make sure to keep everyone posted about how it goes. thanks, todd.
