Are you saying the check engine light is back on with the code?

No, I'm saying the burned up vacuum hose did not fix the problem. Bead blasting the plunger in the EGR valve finally fixed it.

May I ask a stupid question?? What is "bead blasting?"

It's the same as sand blasting but you use glass beads (which looks like fine sand) instead of sand.

Glass beads do not pit aluminum as bad as sand does but tends to break down faster than sand and creates a crap loads of dust.

Another reason is supposably glass beads won't harm engine parts if any is left behind. It will "wash out" with the oil. Like if you were to bead blast a cambox or valve cover. I also wash any engine parts in kerosene before putting them back on my car.

Thanks for the info!

So I was told by a friend that the EGR valve is staying open or close all the time. The car shakes, unstable and feels like it want to turn off unless i hit the acceletator, this happens in the mornings only, I figured out that if i start it and turn it back off imidiately and then restart it is more stable.
My question is this a something that the position sensor or EGR will do.?
Thanks
PS my XLT is running 135000 miles and have not change either part.

Mine never ran any different before or after I fixed it. Just that pesky check engine light wouldn't go off.
