I assume with 33s your a 4X4? If so, you have to drop the driveshafts, t-case, transmission (probably exhaust too) and starter, in order to remove the transmission. It can be done at home on a weekend, but its not easy for a first timer. It will take a while

If you have paperwork showing the warranty and it does not say you cant go off-road, muddy makes no difference. Some shops!!!!!! No way to run a business.

if i can remember correctly, this seal requires a special tool..

Nope....just carefully remove it with screwdrivers or a hook type tool...or????????

There is a special seal puller....although I have never seen one in person and will never go buy one.

You want to look at the front bushing in there when you get the seal out. More than likely its messed up or slipped (builder didn't chink it to the case). Thats common with the A4LD and people who don't know what they are doing.

Once you get it our refer to Glaciers rebuild diary.

thanks for the help

hey guys thanks for the help i was just woundering if there was ne tricks that someone found to make it a lil easier but it sounds like its straight and forward and to be honest i have seen one of those seal pullers and its in my toolbox im a heavy equipment mechainc so i have to have one and it dosent sound to hard thanks for the help

one more thing

have ne of u or ne one u no ever rebuild one of these and is there ne aftermarket things u can buy to maybe beef up this tranny this is the first x iver ever had and im still researching my options and or is there neother auto i can get that would hold up a lil better thanks again

Yep rebuilt a few. Don't like them though. Thats just me.

Glook up Glacier's A4LD "rebuild diary". He has step by step tear down and rebuild with mods. He makes them pretty strong. He knows his stuff a lot more than I do.

About the only other route you have for an auto is the C5 retro-fitted from an old BII. Been there, done it.

You could always buy an expensive adapter and put about anything in. Or go with a standard.
