Wanted Help with head gasket in Raleigh NC area.

Hello, my name is Randy, and I'm a new Explorer owner. I have had many Ford vehicles including a Mustang, Superduty and currently drive a Focus SVT.

So here's my dilema! I'm a helicopter pilot and am going to work in the Gulf of Mexico. I needed a vehicle down there anyhow so started looking, and "accidentally" won an explorer off Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150270786173&rd=1 Not a bad deal for less than $800.

So here's the issue. I'm very mechanically inclined so I plan on doing this myself, and I have new heads for it, that I'm going to have shipped somewhere..... but I was wondering if there were any members that could help out and get me a place close by to NC (I could have AAA tow it up to 200 miles after I drive it as far as it will go so maybe up to 3-400 miles from Raleigh NC)) to do the work and hopefully help out, especially if your PRACTICED at this so it could be done in minimal time. Would be happy to pay for your time and provide frosty amber beverages during the repair.


If you know of any way to help it would be very appreciated.

That could actually be a fun weekend if you have everything ready to go. All parts you could possibly need, etc. Anyone give the guy a hand from that side of the country?
