help with over heating problem please

hoping someone can lead me in the right direction here
2001 explorer sport 4.0 sohc
my truck has been acting funny lately i can let her run for 2 hours in park and temp stays right in the middle where it always does i can drive it around without the air on no problems turn the air on and it wil be fine for a while then the clutch fan engages idle jumps upo and the temp starts creeping up so far i replace the stat rad cap and water pump 2 months ago when i park the truck the upper hose is very hot and firm (i did undo the top hose to see if coolant was pumping) if after driving i open cap a little coolant shoots in to the reservoir could something be clogged i checked my oil for milkieness and found nothin no odors or smoke from exhaust

if anyone has any ides id appreciate the help

Check the temperature difference between top and bottom tanks when it's overheating. 7 to 11 degrees is normal. Less than 7 is an airflow problem. More than 11 is a coolant flow problem. Pressure spray wash the condenser and radiator if low temperature differential. Use a thermocouple type meter or infrared type thermometer.
