There is a paint out that is for Vinyl.. I think it is actually called vinyl dye. I know people use it for the dash and interior of cars with no problem. I am thinking that it may work on the grill etc. How long will it last??/ I have no clue. Go talk to a paint shop that does autobody and ask them how much it would be to paint the parts you want done. I have talked to a few shops about painting bicycle frames, computer cases, fiberglassed boxes etc. and usually they will do it for $50USD for basic black, the price goes up as you get into different colors.

Hope that helps some at least.

scuff it up with a 3M scotch-brite scuff pad,
clean it and blast it with some spray paint for a quick cheap job.

Visit your local body shop for higher quality, ( read: more expensive ) visit you local body shop.

You can try the Krylon Fusion spray paint that's made for plastic. But, you'll have a limited choice of colors. I used it on some plastic valence panel scoops for my dad's Jetta. The paint goes on nice and handles the abuse (bugs & stones).

I just did the inner part of my 94's grille. I used the DupliColor Trim Paint (black of course), but first I cleaned and primed it, then painted, then glued plastic mesh behind it. I taped off the outer chrome part, and everything inside is painted with the black. Looks AMAZING....I'll try to get some pics up tommorow to show ya. Cost me $10 for the mesh and the paint, and I have 20+ft of mesh and 3/4 of a can of paint left over :)

Oh yeah, I used a spray can clear coat (DupliColor) to finish, giving it some nice protection.
