Help with power windows

OK I have read all the post and come to realize I to have been hit with the relay /switch problem. I have a 1996 Explorer Sport. My real problem is that I don't have the cash to fix it. I just need some way of getting the drivers side window back up so that my wife an I can drive it will our two small kids in the car. The wind and the noise in the back set is just to much for them to handle. Can someone please tell me how to get up back up with out having to take out a loan to do it.

remove the door pannel ( its easy )
disconnect the wire to the window motor.
Get a 12v battery and two wires.

Direct connect to the widow motor.
Polarity one way is up.
Plolarity the other way is down.
