1997 Explorer
Hi, I have a problem with my 1997 Explorer XLT power windows. I have done a seach on the forum, but have not found my specfic problem. Both my right (passenger) side windows will not work from either the drivers control or the individual doors. Then two days ago the rear right window went down with both the drivers control and the door control but will not go up. Both the left side windows work fine. I tried to use the troubleshooting guide from one of the posts, but it doesn't really address the issue of two windows not working.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome. Check to make sure the power window lock button on the drivers door is off & if that is not it check the wires where they go through the rubber boot from the drivers door to the body, I have read some posts that the wires have a tendency to crack there.

Thanks, the lock button is off and I am thinking I have a broken wire somewhere, but I am not sure which wire would cause both the passenger windows to not operate.

I had this same problem and just fixed it! I agree with Mike65, check the wires running from your driver door into the vehicle. After years of opening and closing the door they have a tendency to break. That was the issue in my case. It also fixed my side mirrors not working and my power locks, because the wires to them had been separated. This video helped me.
