im going to replace them with longer bolts, but i wanted to make sure its not going to knock my head off in the process. would it be ok to just jack the truck up, pop the bolt out, and stick a new one in, or is it more involved than that?

Just jack up the truck, if you do not remove the torsion key the torsion bar will lower to point and then stop. Nothing to worry about.

cool.thats what i like to hear. ;)

Why do you want longer bolts?

because im lifting it.. the bolts in there are rusty as hell, theyre starting to round off, so i figured i may as well get the longer bolts to make sure i get 2 full inches of lift out of them..

where exactly are the bolts? is it torwards the front of the bars or the back? when i was under my truck yesterday i didnt see any bolts torwards the front. btw, my torsion bars read F57A-BC....so is BC the stiffness of my bars? im looking to raise my Ex to and just wanna get these things clarified so i can do it properly.

The bolts are at the rear of the bars.

theres a thread in the stickys that shows your torsion bar setup.

thanks guys, i was under there checking my fluids today and saw the bolts. when money situations get better hopefully ill be doing this. thanks again
