Thanks

Jill, there's no need to panic! And there's no need to stop and switch off the engine when the warning light comes on. The warning light may seem alarming but there is nothing to worry about. Nothing catastrophic is about to happen. The warning light is coming on to let you know that there is a 'fault' in self levelling system and that the computer has switched it off. I can't help you find the fault (there is soooo much that can go wrong with the self levelling system) but I can assure you that you can drive your Explorer normally without any noticable problems. I had a '98 Ex with the symptoms you describe. I had it for over 3 years and spent about £400 trying to fix it but it was money down the drain...
Yours doesn't happen to be reg No. S 138 LFL by any chance?

Hope this helps,
