I have a 03 explorer limited awd, i had 2 replace the transfer case, so im also replacing the rear main and TC seal because they were leaking. I have the transmission on the ground, I changed the filter and gasket in the trans, I want 2 refill it thru the speed sensor how many qrts should i put in. I didnt loose much fluid changing the TC seal. Im putting it back in in the morning.

If the place you plan to fill through is on TOP (like 5R55S trans.), once it's in the vehicle, you will not be able to add through that hole if necessary. To fill accurately, it's hard to say exactly how much, since some fluid always remains here and there inside, if the trans. was not torn apart.

If it's 5R55S or W, there is a PLUG located on the lower right rear side of the trans., just above the oil pan lip, through which the trans can be filled AFTER installing it. Take a look.........imp
