That is terrible.

man that is sad.....

as for the integrity of the stock jeep bar? i am totally not going to buy a jeep becuase of that pic..... just think if it didnt have the rollbar!

It made me think about getting a cage for my truck even though it isnt all that modified. being my truck is lifted its going to be much more likely to roll than an otherwise stock vehicle. i think this summer a cage might be one of my investments... and in the event i do roll my truck might still be in one piece.

dayum............... thats really sad. they said that guy is in ICU, and had brain inactivity for over 8 hrs... doesnt look good for him. he has my prayers. :(

apparently, he has reagained some activitey, from wht I understand, he is alert of his surroundings, so that's a step in the right direction

good to hear....

nice to see those Heep cages actually Work!!!

man that is sad... but its no wonder why most real jeep wheelers have replaced their cages with better one that one almost did nothing...

If any one is on the east coast and is interested in participating in a ride to help out there is gonna be a fundraiser trail ride march 16 @ paragon. There is a reduced entrance fee to paragon its only 15 dollars.

Sarcasm?

These sport bars in jeeps offer little protection. Had there been a properly built cage in there, it would at most have twisted. If I had a jeep... I wouldn't rely on the stock bars at all.
Best of luck to him!

Sad news. I hope he comes out of this w/no permanent injuries.

I'm no Jeeper, but I vaguely recall there was a Gov't saftey issue with those bars, and the fact that they really are only for show. I think they ended up having to put stickers on the visor or somewhere to the effect of "This bar is for looks only. It is not meant to save your life in a rollover"

Awwee!! I thought it was going to be something about JimAbena and his Expleep or was it Jeeplor. :afro: Jim I kid you:D :D :D :D :D :D

well, that's all I've ran with thus far, now isn't it?:D

I started another thread about the run and if youre interested in going you can post there..

yes, that is horrible what happened to that guy. a stock Jeep roll bar should be strong enough to stand up to that kind of impact, i will pray for him.

Stock Jeep roll bars arent all that strong. most serious rockcrawlers replace them with something stronger. The guy who was in that accident also did it on the road and no one is quite sure what happened.

Yeah that does seem like a good reason for a cage. That must have hurt when it flipped.

Damn. I always thought that the cages on Jeeps were stronger than that. I hope everything comes out OK for the guy.
