I have a 2000 explorer 6cyl OHV engine.

Under light throttle it hesitates very noticeably.
When I stomp on it it seems fine, when idling it seems
fine. Trying to maintain constant speed on road and
there is a definite miss. There was a CEL but it was large leak
in evap system and that seems to have self-reset.
In any case I never thought that evap leak would
cause drive-ability probs. I found some other
discussion of similar problems (diff engines though)
but the thread died and there was never a mentioned solution.

Could this just be dirty injector? Throttle body?

Also throw some HEET in the tank. My X had a similar problem and it turned out to be bad gas.

Remove moisture...we have a problem with the in ground tanks at the gas stations "sweating" when the frost line goes away.

I have:

cleaned TPS

Sea-foamed.

Changed spark-plugs.

Cleaned IAC valve.

USed Fuel injector cleaner in the gas.

Still have the same symptoms.

clean MAF?

sometimes cleaning isn't enough. I replaced the TPS, MAF, and IAC all within this last year on my 98.

I have *not* yet changed the fuel filter.

That is my next step. I have never done
it. Is this one of the fuel filters that needs
a special tool to disconnect the lines?

yea there is a special tool. you can pick it up at the parts store for a couple bucks.
