Well last time I posted was almost a year ago I believe. Well to make a long story short I made the mistake of letting a buddy I had known since I was 6 from Ft. Collins borrow my explorer and he wrecked it good coming down some a hill in lake tahoe.Slightly bent frame rail and a 3 panel front clip for you body shop guys.... I ended up doing all the work myself and shaved about 2 g off the repair costs. This was the way it was supposed to stay untill it's death. But then I decided to sell my sports car and invest the money and take a few grand of what I got for it to go through the explorer and build up the tranny, do a 4 inch suspension lift, and maybe a e- locker or 2.

The snake is sold and I am ready to finally lift up this 2nd gen. Anyone know how big of tires I can go with no rubbing with a 4inch suspension lift on a 2nd gen with NO body lift?
:chug:

Never mind I found them using the search feature....

95-2001
No lift- 31x10.50x15 on 15x8 rim
1-2 inch suspension lift - 32x11.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require some extensive fender trimming
4 inch suspension – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim
2 inch body lift – 32x11.50x15 on 15x8 rim
3 inch body lift – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming
2 inch body lift and 1-2 inch suspension lift – 32x11.50x15 – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming
2 inch body lift and 4 inch suspension lift - 33x12.50x15 – 35x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming
3 inch body lift and 1-2 inch suspension lift – 33x12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming
3 inch body lift and 4 inch suspension lift – 33x12.50x15 – 35.12.50x15 on 15x8 rim/ may require fender trimming.

Okay here is what I am thinking....

4inch suspension lift with 33x12.5.15's and front driveshaft with cv joint...

Rebuild tranny and add some shift fimness in the process

Install a e-locker or two.

Feel free to add any sugestion or poke hole in any of my ideas.....

sounds good to me. why not spring for the solid front axle? i cant say much though mine aint even 4WD yet and still on the ground. lol good luck. cant wait to see how it goes for you.
