Welcome to this forum! Are you looking for any particular brand? There are many threads about cold air intakes. Take a look in the photo gallery, and the product reviews section in addition to doing a search from the link at the top of this page.

There's not many available for the V6's in the 3rd gen. KKM makes one. K&N is in the process of getting info to see if it would be worthwhile to make one, and Volant will be coming out with one hopefully by october.

She's looking to save money on it so is there a ebay brand? On my car ebay sells them for cheap but i didnt see any that would fit her suv. Is there a shrt ram?

No, then she's going for sound and not performance? She might as well slap on a pep-boys filter in that case...

yeh sound and performance she just doesnt want to spend alot she's looking for better gas etc she wont be doing any other modding thats me i got bit by that bug lol...

First of all, it's not going to be a noticable difference, especially if you don't want to spend alot of money. She's going to like the sound its making and romp on it and end up wasting even more gas lol

lol i know but she doest drive it that fast i will romp it though..Usuallly ebay has intakes for cheap and they work great but this model they dont

It usually will cause an engine code . It just a pain I would just put in a K&N filter and be done with it . If she wants speed and sound she shoud have bought a Mustang. I know that will upset a few but unless you really want to pay the $$$ and work it your not going to be happy. Some have put on CAI with no issue and some had to have tunes. Its just the nature of the beast

Not even a K&N filter, you said before that she's looking to save money, if you don't want to spend $50 on a K&N filter get a no-named brand for $20

I put a K&N in my 03 4.6 and it seems a tid bit better but if you are going to do something make sure you do it right with a proven product. There are certain things that you can skimp on and others that I wouldn't. Spend the extra thirty bucks and have peace of mind that you have a quality product.

Besides you will still be saving money when you don't have to replace the paper filters.
