Well, I'm pretty close to on my way back. It turns out I'll be moving out earlier than I thought, so I'll be moving down on the 2nd or 3rd on my way to Austin. I was planning on doing a little detour towards Dallas since there's a few people that live there, and would love to meet up and at least go out to dinner or something. I won't be able to do any trails because I'll have everything I own in my truck (literally! :D ). And just letting you know, any Texas runs within about 4 hours or so of Austin I'll be attending after August 1st :D Just lettin everyone know

Well as you know I am here in Dallas. I am up for whatever. I am going to make a slabs run in Oct so you will have to make it to that.

Where exactly are the slabs, I will be moving back to Texas next month and maybe that will be my first ever group run.

It is close to Kingsley, Tx. It about 60 miles west of Austin, Tx. Great place to wheel and camp.

where are you gonna be in texas?

i'll be there for the slabs, most definately...

I will be moving to college station. I used to live in Bastrop (about 30 miles east of Austin) so I know that area. Im sure I can find my way over to west of Austin.

This Looks like it is going to be fun. I am Going to try to have my Explorer converted to 4x4 as soon as I can but with all the set backs I had who knows. It will be there for the Oct slabs run that is for sure.

The rest of us Demon4x4 members also plan on doing a run to Gilmer in the near future, sometime after we get back from Tellico. There is a collection of info on Texas trails at Dead Link Removed

Moving to College Station, huh? Maybe we'll see each other some time

Gerald, let us know if you have to put money down up front for the rooms. I'll be glad to send you a check to cover my part if you need/want it.

Can the slabs be run in a stock X, or can it only be run with some sort of lift and bigger tires?

Dejello
I dont think I would miss your truck, as for mine, its pretty stock so you might have to look harder. It will probably be the only X in Texas (or anywhere around Texas) with an East Coast Xplorers sticker on it.:D

Hehe... Will do, I'll look for it when you get here:)

I just put some huge hours in the EX. And huge cash. I am not wheeling for a while, but if you guys go to dinner I am up for it. We finished my truck Jared, I miss placed your check though, so it might get cashed but not by me! Let me know.

Actually, I'm going to have to go to southern new mexico on my way to austin to see my dad (he's moving out there), so it'd be just a little too far outta my way to go through dallas. I would if I had the gas money, but I'm a poor college student :( :D

well you could always hit up houston its only about 160 miles from Austin.
