Hi everyone. I've been searching around here for a few days and figured I might as well register and say hi.
I currently don't have an Explorer. I had a 99 a few years back. I really liked it and want another one. Unfortunately the last one I had for 4 days and the transmission went out. Or what I'm learning is the 2-3 flare. It was pretty severe and Aamco said it needed rebuilt. So I did.
Fast forward, I'm trying to sell my Mustang, and once it sells I want another Explorer, but I'm a little hesitant and my financial planner (read wife) is even more than I am. She's pretty convinced I'm guaranteed to have to rebuild a transmission and is against the purchase. I have it narrowed down to 2 right now - a 94 Explorer with 115k miles on it or a 94 Navajo with 128k miles. Neither has problems right now, so I should be fine, right?
