1994 Ranger 3.0 XLT 5spd
Just bought a 94 extended cab xlt 3.0 5spd for 1k today. It has 200k, so I'm crossing my fingers it stays running good, but it seems to run strong at the moment. What kind of mileage are people getting out of the 3.0 engines? I do know that the tranny was rebuilt and clutch replaced. It was a fleet truck and other than a few dings here and there and a worn interior it's nice!

I also think that the speedo may be reading higher than the actual speed. That or everyone along I-5 was averaging 70mph when they are usually all going about 65mph at most. I'll check the air pressure before I make assumptions. Seems to be a good truck and I'll be using it to haul my bike to the track.

Welcome to the site. We have a great community of people who own Rangers and who have done some great work on them.

welcome

Welcome! The 3.0 engines are a TANK... performance of a 4 cylinder and fuel economy of a v8 but they are almost impossible to break. With synthetic oil changes often the engine will last another 100-150,000 miles.
