Hi to everyone! I need to know how to fix rear breaks on a 1993 Ford Explorer, Its a 4x4. I need some pictures to show me what I am dealing with, so I don't mess anything up. I am going to be helping my husband and we just need to see some pictures and text to show us. thanks :salute:

Welcome to the Explorer forum :wavey:

The site can be kind of confusing at first, but it it broken up into various forums. Please read the "Threads" called stickies (or FAQs) at the top of the forum you're in. These stickies give you important information about the forum and rules on posting.

As such this forum is for new members to introduce themselves. Its not really geared/intended for technical questions.. Posting technical questions here would be like waiting in a supermarket check out line when the cashier went to lunch (you may be in for a long wait).

Searching is the easiest and fastest way to narrow down the information you are looking for. In addition to the link greenbeer posted you will find similiar links DYI Rear Brakes

hi its me again, I don't know where to find this information, I've looked for a hour and there is no pictures to show you what to do with the text, if I had pictures would know what I am doing. Like I said it took me for ever and I didn't get anywhere. just send me a link that has the pictures and text, please. Thank you all for helping me.

Did you click on the blue underlined text in the posts above? They would have directed you to info such as Click here for step by step rear brakes You can even print out the article if you want..

If all else fails go to an auto parts store and buy a Haynes or Chiltons manual for 91-01 Explorers. Rear drums can be frustrating but, are not that difficult.

welcome

Welcome to this forum! This photo was in both of DeRocha's posts:

Notice that one brake shoe has more material on it than the other one. The shoe with more material is facing the rear of the vehicle. This is the picture of the rear driver's side. You will need special tools to remove, and install brake shoes.
