Just thought I would make a brief introduction. My name is Larry I am from Cleveland,Ohio. I joined this site because I am having problems with my Ford Explorer, it seems to be stuck in 4 wheel drive, the lights are flashing 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low,and the lights flashing overdrive is off, sounds like the transfer case isn't clicking. It's like its not coming out of 4 wheel drive.I'm hoping to get some help with these issues. If anyone has any suggestions or tips I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Larry

welcome to the forum, i lived in hudson for about two years(20 minutes south of cleveland). As for the 4wd issue try resteting the computer(un-hook the negative battery =cable for 20 minutes). See if hat helps at all.

welcome

Welcome to Explorer Forum! I have seen this problem before, just search around. You should find your answer in the transmission, transfer case, diff section. Happy searching!

Welcome to this forum! It sounds like the shift motor is stuck. There is a sticky called the 4X4 shift motor rebuild in the transmission section which explains that there is a part which wears out, and causes the motor to turn too far, and get stuck. The simple fix is to use a piece of rubber hose as a bumper. Go to that section to read all about this.
