HID head light

What you saw was a Limited. Limiteds use the amber lights for DRL. HID head lamps are not used for DRL and since all Limiteds in Canada have HID, they will all have the amber lights used for that purpose.

Peter

Once again you are right lol. It was a limited. Mine does have drl on the headlights.

So is the can-bus needed for the explorers? I do use auto so I will be getting a timed relay.

Sorry, I am not able to answer that one. I'm sure there will members who can and if not here, try posting the question in the 'Modified' threads.
Happy Easter

Curious as to your statement; "need at least 6000k". If you want the brightest light go with 4300k. If it is a combination of colour and light then the 6000k is a good option.

Peter

i think 4300k will catch too much attention to cops since explorer is tall enough that it might distract cars infront of me especially smaller cars cause of its brightness so ill just settle for 6000k besides there is some areas of new jersey where freeloaders cops driving around lol

If I'm not mistaken, the HID's the Limited comes with are 4300k.

That's correct Peter. I used to get flashed all the time by people who thought I had my highs on. In my Sport with the 6k HIDs nobody flashes me. The light is just as good as 4300 just not as blinding.
