Hey everyone, I'm looking into getting an HID kit. I was wondering what your suggestions were. I was looking through and found vvme.com. Seems to be a good site. My question is can i just get the kit or will I need to buy lamps as well with the bulbs? Thanks!

are the lamps also known as housings?
The factory housing is completely reflective inside. This will increase the amount of glare since it wasn't designed for bulbs that could be 3 times brighter than stock.
The e-bay headlight housings that are painted black except for the round reflector might provide a better beam pattern with slightly less glare maybe.

But who care about oncoming traffic that's getting blinded by a s-hitty headlight setup.

You can just get the kit. Im sure your stock housings will be fine. I just recommend that you buy a decent kit. Im not sure what kit your looking at but i suggest you google a kit that has at least a 15 year warranty. I bought my first kit for like 50 bucks with a 2 year warranty and it crapped out on me in 6 months. I paid about 150 for my kit now and so far no troubles for a year and a half.

I got my HID kit from DDM Tuning and feel they are a great kit. I bought idem number DDM35W.9007HiLo.5000k, which is a 35 watt light in a white color(5000k), with high and low beams. They work great easy install as the are not a bulky ballast, and lifetime warranty as long as you keep the original recept. I have had them about a year and no problems and I offroad my trac a bit. Here is a link to the ones I bought http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W I also own a 02 Trac, hope this helps.
