HID - should I go for it?

So I have a friend who is big into cars, and he thinks I should add HID to my 93 explorer. I think it would be great, since I can't see anything at night. So, what do you guys think of this kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170003863705
It has hi/lo beams which I like, seems most don't. And it's cheap. (relatively speaking)

I don't know about the kit but I do have a question for you. Are your headlights corroded to that amber color? If so then HID's are not going to help you anyway. If you do HID's you might want to purchase some of those Diamond Cut Headlights also. Just wondering because you said you can't see anything anyway.

Unless you really plan on spending a lot of money on your 1st gen/modding it a lot for "street" type looks- you would be much better served by getting a set of piaa 520s or similar.
