Howdy.
I've been a lurker on & off for a year of so, but finally decided to make it official & come out of the closet today. :D My screen name is the same I use on a few other boards & originated from Slick 60's.com, an old truck board.

I live near Salt Lake City, Utah & have been an Exploder owner since 2003. We bought this '91 Eddie Bauer with 177,000 on the clock in great looking & running condition...

...now, with 240,000 miles, it's finally to the point where I've declared it officially worn out. LOL! It still ran good, but leaked coolant from at least two different locations that I can tell, engine oil too (hence the board underneath), the p/s pump & gearbox are both on their last legs & both leak profusely, the ball joints & shocks are terribly worn, etc.
But the tranny still shifts fine. :D

I've stuffed it in the garage, with intentions of fixing it's alilments as time allows...that was 18 months ago. I've discovered that for being such a physically small engine, that baby is sure packed in there! :(
So I'll probably be asking some questions.:shifty_ey

Here's a pic of the first time the spare was on the ground (yep, that recall Firestone), in the fall of '06.:)

Why hide the beer? It's no fun to drink alone.:chug:

Welcome to Explorer Forum! I just got rid of my firestone spare last week. They traded me even up for a 31X10.50.

Thanks for the welcome, guys!:)
Yep, it's in pretty good shape for having this many miles. The guy we got it from took pretty good care of it. The driver's seat & the center arm rest look like they have a lot of miles, though. LOL! :D

I was kinda bummed that I had to use the virgin spare that day, my Wife thought I was loony. I don't think she's ever gonna get the guy/gearhead mentality thing. hehe:p:

Welcome to the forum.

welcome and nice explorer u got

Hi all,

As you know I am a newbie...I reside in charlotte, nc, and found this site while I was searching for questions about brakes and rotor pricing for my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT. Hopefully this site will be a great resource for me!
