disconnect the battery.. the computer has stored data for hundreds of start cycles and it is not yet ready to believe that there is actually more air coming in. hook it back up start it let it warm up and after that it should be good.

option B is you have a vac leak check all the lines near where you worked

relly thats it wow i love efi! thanks i just went out side and unpluged the negative side and i will leav it off all night

about a min is all that is needed, whenyou first start it will go high no matter what but after a warm up you should be golden!. if not vac leak;)

i cheaked all the hoses on the intake for leaks... is there any where els it can leak at that i wont know about like my cruse control stuff i noticed its run of vacume? and the plastic hose coming of the charcol can to the throdel body ,can it be pluged? sorry for all the ? but iv never had all the vac lines befor so its a new game for me:p:

whats the verdict on the fix? there are few vac lines only what you see. high idle indicates a vac leac not a plugged line

i think its good now i did like you sed, went out this morning in the rain and hoked up the battery AND CRANKED ER UP IT IDLED AT 1900 THEN I drove it up the road and did some donuts in the rain had some fun on the gravel road, parked it it idled at 900 but wus not all the way warmed up. so i ges its fixed wuts the normal idle rpm when cold?
