I changed my vacuum modulator on my tranny the truck idled down to 800 is after that and it did
in a good time, now I have a 980-1k rpm
air box is out at the moment but I sealed off all vacuum ends that are unused anyone know why I am experiencing this?

1k rpm isn't really considered high rpm, guys here range from 800-1200 depending on their preference. you may have actually had a slightly low idle.

personally mine idles at around 1k rpm as it seemed a little lumpy and it sometimes stalled out when changing over to gas when idling at 800 rpm.

If you've changed the vacuum status in any way then your going to see changes in idle no matter what. just lower it slightly with your idle adjustment under the hood

650 to 800 is the normal idle as to ford reference value. 1k rpm is practically high. My suspicion will be on your vacuum connections which you mentioned "unused". May I ask which vacuum port was unused?
