Highly anticipated home made stealth box...PICS!!

Hey everyone, finally I managed to get some pics of my box for you all! dont have any specs cause well, i cant find a tape measure at the moment. If youve got any questions, let me know. its made with 5/8" MDF, liquid caulk, a whole bunch of screws, and some liquid nails. sounds good with that image dynamics v2 10 that you see in there. sorry to keep you waiting for so long, but with out further adieu, here it is!!

btw, these pics show the box standing on end, the piece that is hanging off in the middle of nowhere will face the front of the car. the whole front panel is going to be covered with black fabric before i install it

thanks...it goes in place of that relatively useless "pocket" on the passenger side of the cargo area.

Very nice... I decided to put my amps there instead and keep the sub in the cargo area... I do like that set up, you should be able to fit 1 amp forward of that box (above the wheel hump ~ where the factory amp was/is) this is how my system is setup.

Real nice Fish Man ! Have a few questions how deep is the box and what's the internal volume of the box? I have been doing some research and will be attempting a fiber glass box.All am waiting for is the weather to warm up! Am in the northeast. BUT get back to me with the specs.

nice job man, looks like you saved a good bit of money on that.. besides, building your own box to specs on the sub is always a better idea anyway. Can't wait to see it installed!

what you may wanna do, and you may already have this.. I dunno.. find yourself a premium audio speaker cover for the rear cargo thingy there, and put it over it, the sub will look stock and people will never be the wiser! besides the stock cover for the premium 8 makes a very strong cover ont hat side, you dont want something sliding into it.

btw hows that idq soundin? I see you got it hooked up there..

What are the specs? In particular, exterior measuremnts and internal volume? I assume it is sealed and not ported?

Merc- depth of the box is a little under 5.5" at the top, and a little under 7 inches at the bottom. dunno about airspace, but my sub is supposed to have .25 to .75 cu ft so i think im in that range.

Darkfox, yeah, i saved a good bit of money, and now for ive got my exhaust done too! tahts a good idea about the stock cover, ill have to consider that. the IDQ sounds good, ive got it hooked up in my room getting 300w (shared between 3 subs) and it still pounds pretty good!

sweaver, yeah, it is sealed and yomie got it, the JBL amp i just bought from him is going to power it.

fishdude, sounds great, but make sure you dont underpower the sub, underpowering is worse than overpowering, I'd save it for the car

its not 100% bad,

its the distortion created by underpowering a sub that blows it

so after you get it all situated in your truck you going to start making them and selling them to people on the board? He He He I am just to lazy to take my truck apart to mesure it and I am too cheap to pay for a jbl or mtx box. So guess what I am getting at is how much for you to build me one too?
