As an owner of an XLT, which does not have HID lights, I was looking for an inexpensive way to get a whiter light. In this endeavor I saw a few recommendations for the HIR type lights and followed the link to http://www.hirheadlights.com/ which is also www.finemotoring.com

In hopes that I would get a good bulb and a whiter light, I made my purchase via Paypal. The guys name who responds is a "Max Lumens" which I thought was funny but the bulbs did get a "rec" from someone here.

Long story short, I put one bulb in today and stood across the street to look at the bulbs. I have LED's in my fogs so I am looking for a whiter light.

Nothing, nada, no different. If anything, the light when looking at it vs the OEM appeared to give a slightly different pattern. Regardless, in standing across the street with my neighbor, we did not see any difference that would leave me to offer even the slightest recommendation for purchase.

I have contacted the website to see how they reply and I will present the response openly and honestly here on the board.

Clearing up this topic

Well, in hindsight, there is definitely some miscommunication here and none of it has to do or relate to the seller of this product.

Many of us are looking at trying to get a more white look to our lights and are trying to avoid the expensive cost of HID lights. It isn't just the bulb and ballast but the HID projector housing.

Somewhere in these discussions I believe I read that I should look at HIR bulbs if I wanted to accomplish this goal and avoid the cost of HIR bulbs. Had I asked the seller of this project, Fine Motoring, he would have cleared up the mistaken assumption that the bulbs were more white. They are, according to his charts, brighter, though I have not tried them at night time to compare. What I wanted is a whiter light during daylight operation and this did not accomplish that objective. If your objective is to try and get a 5000k looking headlight output without going to HID lights, this product is NOT what you want, it will not accomplish that goal.
