While I was at Silver Lake here in Mears, Michigan I came across this water hole in my Jeep...

Damn thing stalled on me and stuck a butt load of water in. After an oil change I was good to go though. I figure god was looking down on me for that one!

Bummer but at least you got pics!!!!

doesn't look like the front end was that deep in the pic... had you already started to get pulled out?

Good thing it didn't kill anything...

The engine went under water first. I had enough momentum to carry me to that point in the hole before she died.

Ya, nice luck, water and engines don't mix. Cool pic tho.

Had the same thing happen in my X. My factory intake sucked in quite a bit of muddy water. I managed to get away without any apparent damage and I had tryed several times to start it while it was hydro-locked. Then 2 silly friends decided it must be my fluid levels that were causing all the fuss.... Well their actions led me to beleive the water in my oil pan was elswhere as well

Hee, hee... that must've been the watering hole down by the beach? We were out there about three weeks ago... I pulled three Jeeps, two Toyotas, and a beast that might've been a blazer at one time out of that very same hole for the very same reason.

Here's my friend's Sport Trac hitting that hole at about 50:

must not have been trail rated

One thing I have learned about Silver Lake from watching other peoples mistakes is dont hit waterholes
some can be 8ft deep, others 8 inches
its a crap shoot if you dont investigate the hole first
if you can walk through and water only goes knee high, hit her, but if its higher than your knee... consider the fact that you might be begging for a tow all the way back to the camping park for an oil change

I know this thread is a couple months old but where in Michigan is this? i live up in petoskey but i've been looking for places to put my ex through its paces after a lift and some 33's this summer :D
