Just used google maps to see where it is... Definatly cant make it any time soon

I am renting a house in Santa Cruz for the week with my family and my dad and I were thinking about going down to Hollister to try out the 4 wheelin down there. We both leave in 2 days (Thursday the 11th) so if you wanna go you might wanna post soon. My truck is also stock except for the speakers and head unit. We are originally from the Bay Area and it takes us about an hour to get to Santa Cruz but I'm not sure how long it is to get to Hollister. And I am also beautiful 16 but I've had my licsense for about 6 month now. So post back if you wanna go and I'll talk to my pops and we'll just wing it.

Sorry dude im not gonna be able to go, i slid off a sand bank into a river in my X the other day so its gonna be in the shop for a while. Thanks for the offer though.

Easy street.

Ok here is a fun and simple place to off road. The roads are easy to handle and it gives you a good feel for what your stocker can do. On route 25 going twards Taco Bell. There is a gas station on the corner next to Taco Bell. Turn at that corner and cross the train tracks. Just before the first house on the right there is a dirt road turn up it and enjoy. Be careful there are dirt bikes, and motoXers out there sometimes. Also the San Benetio High School cross country team practices out there. 10:00-3:00 is the best time to go. When it rains it can get very muddy. There is also some chunks of concrete out there Keep an eye out and your windows down(so you can hear the motoXers) and you'll be fine. I don't know if it legal so wach for people yelling at you, but I have never had any problems out there.

sorry again right post. The message is for the kid who started the thread

Wanna get together and go out to that place off of route 25 some time? How far is it from salinas? Can you give me directions or could you meet me sumwhere sometime and lead me out there to do some 4x4'in together? Last time i went 4x4'in alone i got my car stuck on a sand bank and it slid into a river =\ so im very cautious of wat i do alone now.

Hey 93, I am also in Santa Cruz.......Its about 40 minutes from you and from hollister. Let me get my junk fixed and I am game for a run out there, But I want to meet you at your place and meet the parents first off.... Sorry dude but those are the rules. There are a lot of mild trails and fun stuff to do out at Hollister, But you will still have to have another vehicle with you. I dont recomend going with only one truck anywhere at all... I have had to walk and even sleep in my truck for 2 days one time while digging and winching..... So it is what it is. Like I said though, Give me a week or two to get my truck going again and I will gladly take a run out there..... Something to think about....Jeremy

Sweet thanks, you comin and meetin my parents will make them MUCH more comfertable, assuming they let me go, im grounded from drivin this week due to the river accident, but after that i should be clear to go.

1 question, do i need good tires to do the mild runs? cuz when i bought the car it came with 4 mix match tires on it and i havent had the time or money lately to get new ones.

The spot ain't all that crazy. A confedent road driver would somewhat comfortable on the Taco Bello Run. It's got sevral good hills, but overall it's not very big or challenging. The young guy could learn there while keeping his ride intact.

Ok so does someone want to give me more specific directions to this "Taco Bell Run" or better yet sum1 wanna come with me?

Directions

Take 101 out of Salinas going north.
Get on 156 / San Juan Hollister Rd.
Continue on San Juan Rd. NOT Veterans Memorial Hwy.
San Juan Becomes 4th St. Continue on 4 Th St.
At the intersection of 4 Th and San Benito St. turn left.
Go up to North St. and turn left onto North St.
Just before the first house on the right there is a dirt road. Get on the dirt and explore.

thx, hey how about next sunday? wanna meet up there? Im free all week and weekend for the most part, so just lemme know wats good for you. we can meet up there or sumthin

How long does it take you to drive it, i tried map quest and it says an hour and a half....is it worth that much drivin?

now maybe its just me... but if it isn't posted legal 4 wheeling and you don't know if it is legal to be there, you probably shouldn't tell other people to go wheel there.....

here is a very valid point to think about, and i am sure any REAL WHEELER WILL AGREE... wheeling wherever you want to, is not a good idea... hey if its legal awesome... however if it isn't or you don't care to find out if it is, that is the kind immaturity and irresponsibility that gets the LEGAL parks and trails closed.......
