jaws of life?

i have seen some people drill a hole in the hood and press the release with a screwdriver, but other than that i have no idea

No more woes....

I found another way to open the hood from the outside. The plate? the releases the hood can be moved the a piece of stiff wire or coat hanger.
Put a small loop on one end and feed it up thru the grill to the plate then a firm tug to the right(drivers side),it should pop right up. I can send pics on request if needed.

hood latch wooes pt 2

Turned out not to be abroken cable just a stretched one and couple of adjustments and all better...of course a liberal dose of WD-40 helped too.

how do you adjust a stretched cable? Mines giving me fits.

i saw someone use a wrench to pull on the wire and it unlocked

Check out Stuck Hood Latch for info on using the manual latch release..

okay so what would the easiest fix for a sticking hood latch be that does not warrant a coat hanger? thanks
