hood Modifications?

Hi, New to the Board, I post this in the body section then saw this section so I though I would post it here too. I have a '99 Explorer Sport 2wd that I use as a daily driver, but want to make more sporty. So I 'm thinking I want to get a Functional Mach 1 Shacker Scoop for a '99 V6 Mustang and make it fit and function on my Explorer. I just need some info from some people that have some experence with Explorers. I was wondering how much underhood room I have with the hood down, and what the diffrences are between the mustang V6 and mine? Thanks in advance for any help!

shaker hoods were only offered on 2003 Mach 1s, which are v8s. There was a hood scoop available for 99-04 mustang hoods but it wasnt functional. the shaker system costs about $800 where the non-functional scoop is $150.

since the 4.6 mustang TB bolts up to the 4.0 upper intake, the shaker plumbing should connect w/out a problem. whether or not it will fit under the hood ..... ???? if it would, then youd need to fabricate some kind of mounting system as well since the mounts are part of the special mach1 upper intake.

I thought about this a few weeks ago too, but Im too chicken to attempt something so wild. Id love to see it done though.

there is a kit for the 01 explorers and sport tracs to add a functional shaker to the explroer..... i dont know how hard it would be to fit it to that vehicle
