It would look pretty good. How much are they?

yo black magic what bulbs you use for your fogs?. also the hood would prob look tight, you could prob actually make it work. then you would have a specialized ram-air. very unique.

I like the Idea!

Hmmm, you'd need a good body shop to graft the scoop into the hood. It would probably end up being $4-500 if they knew what they were doing. Don't get ideas in my head :)

OK. How about a shaker hood:

Pro Finish

You could blow a lot of $$ on this.

Well, spending $550 on gears next week. My summer job $$$ is running off fast.

I was thinking of getting one from the Ford dealer to just "test" the fit and look. That way I could return it if I didn't like it. I don't know how much the dealer gets for on but I bet it is a lot more than $115.00. If I like it I would order one from ebay.

Also I was wondering what it would look like backwards? Like a cowl induction hood.

some info

the new sytle mustang hood scoop will not fit well at all. Hood scoops off of '74 thru '90 should fit pretty well. currently I am looking for one off of a '85 mustang GT. they mount on backwards like a cowl scoop, but are mounted on a flat type hood. Hope this helps alittle. Don

This guy used a scoop from an 83 GT. It looks like it fits really nice. At first I thought it was the EE hood blister but I emailed him and he told me he got it from a junker. Does anyone know how it attaches?

It does!

The scoop has about 6 studs and you just drill holes in your hood, be careful on the placement! Woow nice too see my own ex pics are getting around!:D Don

I would buy the EE hood blister if it wasn't so expensive. Also I've heard that they don't make it anymore, guess it doesn't matter because I don't think anyone in their right mind would pay $250 for a hood blister.

Black Magic, I think that could be pretty easily retrofitted into your hood. You wouldn't neccessarily have to mold it into your hood, you'd just need to cut the hole and bolt it in. I like the cowl induction idea too.

Blackdiamond... I love the way that looks!! Did it just fit on perfectly or did you have to do any kinda work to make it fit? I not too keen on the idea of drilling holes in my hood but if it goes on easy with little work then I just might. Let me know, Thanks.

just bolted it on, the mustang has just about the same curve to the hood. I took the studs out of the scoop and layed it on the hood and found the best spot was 3/4 inch in front of the back crease. Don

Sweet!! :bounce:

Is 83 the only year that came on or were there others? And was it only on the GT's? I just want to know what to look for when I go to the junk yard. Thanks.

It was optoinal on all stangs, and other years were if I remeber was 84 and 85

Black Diamond -

Did you cut that to be functional, or is it just bolted on? I am looking for one to put on, but want to make it functional to release some heat...
