Well I replaced the fuel filter, still dies. I replaced the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator), still dies. I have cleaned things well enough to eat off of, still dies. The other day it died on me and it took for ever to start. I went out and tapped on the relay switch and I don't know if it was coincidental but it started. I was on the verge of replaceing the ICM Module when the parts guys said to replace the relay switch first (mUUUUUUUUUch cheaper). So far it has run OK for a few days. Keep fingers crossed. Thanks for everyones help. This is an awsome sight. I will keep you updated on the status. Viper Out

This sounds similar to a problem I had with my '94 Explorer where I would stop the car and not be able to restart. At first I though it was the Inertia safety switch, popping it out and resetting it allowed the car to start. I happened a few more times though and tapping on the fuel relay under the hood in the compartment just behind the battery always brought it back to life.

The relay right next to it in the box was the same type but this one controls the blower fan so I swapped the two over.

The car has never failed to start again and it took a full year for me to get in after stopping one day and the A/C blower didn't switch on!

A seven dollar relay later and everything still works fine.

My suggestion is if you can substitute this part to a less critical location, if it's an intermittent problem you gain the peace of mind knowing you isolated and eliminated the problem.

Good luck, maybe this will help?

I have a '94 eddie bauer and I've had the same problem. I don't have a fix for it but it seams that the wireing for the relay gets lose in the fuse box.
