ok, the horn on my '94 just stopped working today. the fuse is fine, the relay is working, but it won't work. i got my truck back from the body shop 20 days ago because of a bad accident. could there be a bad connection to the horn itself under the hood somewhere. btw, where is my horn, i cant see it and its not in my haynes manual. i appreciate your help guys.

Try using your middle finger, it works pretty good for me. :D

I'm feeling the addition of a train horn with air tank!!!

Did you check the horn itself? Was your ex in a front end collision?

If relay is pulling in, then you got juice and horn ring is good (the usaul thing that goes bad). I would guess the accident damaged some of the wiring to the horn, or the horn itself. Are you sure you have used the horn in the past 20 days? I wish I could go find my horn, but it is too dark now. I will look tommorrow if you haven't found it.

I also have some Model A aaaaaauuuuuugggggaaaa horns on the garage if you need a replacement.

I know the feeling, the horn on my Chevelle wouldn't do much more than a really really short honk after you laid on the horn pad a couple of times

I kept messing with it till it finally worked like it was supposed to do. I think it just hadn't been used in 8 years caused it to act up considering my dad only drove it 4 miles round trip during that time and it gathered only 20,000 miles.

But the train horn idea sounds good. A friend of mine installed some Cadillac horns on his 00 Civic to ditch the wimpy rice meep horn.

only jerks use the horn. Id rather have both hands on the wheel and aviod the ass that cut me off rather than honk at them.

Guess I shouldn't use my horn and spotlight on you then

I'm not clear on the factory horn location, but I'd suspect the horn and it's connections. If you can't find the problem, you can always install an aux horn like I did for under $20.

On the 95+ the horn is under the battery and above the inner fender plastic. Remove the plastic (four screws and four bolts) and you won't be able to miss it. On the 91-94's I'm not sure though, since I think your battery is on the other (passenger) side?

since, i'll be getting an x of my own within a week or two, i won't be adding anything to it. the middle finger works sometimes, but not when someone is blowing a stop sign. i'll look under my battery to check, but if anyone knows where it is on a '91-94, please tell me. and yes, it was a front end collision. look at the accidnet pics in my signature. i gotta go cause i'm in class right now. lata guys.

On my '94, the horn is behind the left headlight. I'm still waiting to get an air horn though, that'll be nice :D

So it is in the same place 91 through 00. learn something new everyday :)

Had the same problem with my '94. Found it was only a bad contact at the horn. Cleaned it up and it works just fine.

hey guys. its definitely the connection cause i hit some bumps today and it worked again, then it didn't, thend it did again. when i have some time, i'll fix it on my own, but for now i bought a compressed air horn at a local hardware store so i can just put it out he window and give somebody the business. lol the funny thing is that one of my bumper stickers states something very true "horn broken, watch for finger" lol have a good one guys.

The horn is in the same place, but the battery's switched. In my '94 the battery's behind the right headlight, so when you said the horn's under the battery I was like, "No it's not, it's on the other side." But it all makes sense now :D
