How about intake porting?

I dunno if it's worth the time or not, but i usually deal with camaro's, and i know that everyone i know and talk to with a camaro, mustang, or really any fuel injected car, port their intake for better flow and more HP. Has anyone done this on their explorer. Is it worth all the time and effort? Or does anyone make an aftermarket intake? Thanks.

There are no aftermarket heads that I know of. 4.0 Performance has ported the heads and used extrude honing on their 150mph Ranger. Seems pretty awesome.

I will at least port when I do mine since I have all the rest of the air mods and want to stay naturally aspirated. The actual raw HP gain will be at highest RPM rather than rock-crawling speeds, but it is probably worth doing with a rebuild.

I was talking about porting the intake manifold, i'm not near ready for an engine rebuild, and the intake would be something you could do with a reasonable amount of work.

The 4.0Liter Performance ranger also has a ported intake manifold. They are the only company I know of that sells manifolds, and even at that they are only ported and port matched factory units.
