How dependable is the keyless door entry?

howstuffworks.com has a good thing on how to lockpick, but im unsure if that way would work in a car since the key teeth ar on both sides of the key

Yep, and there's a lot simpler way than that to do it... oops. Never mind. Just don't leave your mama's heirlooms in an Explorer, okay?

Ah no... I don't know you, and there's no way I'll post it on a public board. Let's just say that I agree with the prior post that any thief can get in if he wants to, and to keep that in mind when you think of leaving valuables in your vehicle.

One issue, that isn't really an issue. My drive side door lock is broken on my '98, I can only unlock that door from the inside. (I'm getting it fixed finally this coming weekend) So the keyless entry doesn't work. I did read the owners manual when I locked myself out recently and if you hold down the 3/4 key after you enter your code it unlocks all the doors.

Yup. It usually involves a brick, rock, tire iron, or some other hand-held object. When used in conjunction with tempered glass on any vehicle windows except the windshield, it's an excellent re-entry device. They're the choice of theives worldwide, and have been for decades... Centuries even!!

oh yea, i know that one...a center punch...available for like 4 bucks on ebay....was the tool of choice to break the window of my cougar. the window cost 931 bucks....so glad i knew someone from the junkyard. Im not naieve, but this world is turning to ****...
