I am looking to buy a 2004 explorer and they guy told me it had a ruff idle and is not sure what is wrong with it sensor wise. he said he hooked it up and it told him it was a MAP sensor but he could not find one the truck. I am just looking for an estimate of how much it would cost for me to fix these things or if its even worth getting. Thank you.

What size engine? V6 or V8. How much does he want.

need more information

Which engine - V8 or V6?
How many miles on the odometer?

I suggest that you assume that he's already tried the simple/inexpensive fixes and they didn't resolve the issue so he's decided to sell it. If you're mechanically inclined, have tools and a place to work on the vehicle it might be worth the gamble. If you have to pay a shop to diagnose and repair the vehicle it could be an expensive gamble.

Do you mean the MAF (mass airflow sensor)? He told you he couldn't find it on the truck, or he couldn't find a replacement for it?

The MAF can certainly cause a rough idle.

MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure. It is a thing.
