When I purchased my 97 last year the dealer told me he had no clue what the code was for the keyless entry. I have recently heard that there is a way to re-program it. Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Look for it in the jack compartment on a sticker on a module in there. Kinda hard to read.

remember factory code +2 will allow you to program your oun code... and personal or factory code + 3 will open all doors and the last two buttons pressed at the same time locks all doors

Nice to know. I was just trying to memorize the factory code. Now I don't need to.

it's still a nice code to know

Wish I had known you could find it there, would have saved me $40 in having them pull it from the computer. Apparently you can get it by going through like half an hour of information with a diagnostic scanner. Thanks for the info, though.

Am I missing something? I have a 97 X but I have a key fob and that only has one button - how can I press two buttons? (mines fitted with a Bosch immobiliser)

we're talking about the side entry... not the fobs...

Sorry I'm lost - my door key is just a plain key

explorer's have buttons as well as key and remote entry
