I have the 2014 Ford Explorer Sport. How do I get the rpm in the display to be viewed as a tachometer? I've seen this in a couple of youtube videos but can't get mine to be displayed like that. As of now, my rpm reading goes from top to bottom.

Check page 129 in your Owner's Guide. It's under Display Mode in the left Information Display.

Go to the Display line of the left side display.

On the left steering wheel switch rockers, hit the right (or is it left :D)button to toggle through the options for the left screen.

Why don't people read their owner's manuals?

People do read the manual but my display only says 1.Fuel 2.Fuel+Tach. I want the round tachometer for rpm's

Sounds like you're in Settings. The Fuel or Fuel+Tach is to have the vertical bar tach next to the fuel gauge for most of the views(such as when viewing the Fuel Economy).

Press the left button until you get to the "main" screen of the left display. The top line should be Display Mode.

Highlight Display Mode and hit OK(or press right). You should be able to scroll through different display modes and one should be the round tach with vertical fuel and coolant temp.

Because they just paid $30-40k for a car, and it should just work.

The days of the GTO are long gone. (GTO = Gas, tires, and oil)

Because they paid big $$ for a vehicle with many advanced features is all the more reason to read the Owner's Guide. The features do work, if you know how to use them. The majority of questions/concerns that I answer on this forum have answers that are found in the Owner's Guide.

All you have to do is shift the transmission to M mode and it will automatically bring up the tach. Then shift back to drive and away you go.
