How do I remove the coil?

So I tried to install my Skyjacker 2" lift today at my brother's house... We decided to start on the front, since the rear looks really simple (I'm using shackles instead of AAL)...

Got the truck jacked up, took the tire off, took the shock off, looked at the coil, and couldn't figure it out... Stacey David makes it look so darn easy, just lower the axle and pull the spring out. But my axle doesn't go down. And the spring doesn't budge...

What did you all do to get your coils out of there???

where did you jak the truck up from? you need t ojack it up from the frame not the axle, or it wont move... also there is a huge nut at the bottom of the coil/top of the I Beams that needs to come off or the coil isnt going to go anywhere....

Don't forget that the TTB won't extend down far enough unless you also remove the shock.

Besure to support the truck with jack stand under the frame and use the jack to slowly lower the TTB down to allow the spring to de-compress slowly, then remove the huge nut at the bottom and remove spring.

Remove the shock and the anti-sway bar and just start standing on that axle. It will swing down. Then get your 1-1/8" socket or wrench and start twisting away on that nut...

The above info is true for 2wd, NOT a 4x4... On a 4x4 (as the others have said) there is a 28mm nut (~1 1/8") That holds the lower spring in place.
